For years, the Jingjing was the most beloved pet in the world. Originally from the high mountain forests of China, these small, spirited creatures were found in every home. They were famous for their bright colours and constant, cheerful presence. But then, the "Fading" happened. Their songs grew quiet, their vibrant coats lost their lustre, and eventually, they simply vanished into the mountain mists. Most people thought they were gone forever — a beautiful memory of a simpler time.

The Discovery in the Welsh Hills

A few years later, deep in the heart of the Welsh hills, Sian was out walking her dog. The air was cool and damp, and the mountains were silent — until a strange, melodic trill echoed from a small, ivy-covered cave.

As she peered into the shadows, a pair of golden eyes twinkled back at her with intense curiosity. Sensing the creature's hunger, Sian reached into her pack and rolled a crisp, red apple across the cave floor.

Out tumbled a cute bundle of fur. It looked up at Sian with a wide, cheeky smile, took a happy bite of the apple, and chirped:

The Jingjings hadn't disappeared; they had simply evolved. They had migrated from their ancestral homes to the wild, green peaks of Wales, finding a new strength in the mountain air. They were back, and they were finally home.
