Breeding

Ready to grow the family? Breeding produces a brand-new egg whose looks are inherited from both parents — every baby is a little surprise.

Step one: matchmaking

Pets need to be partnered before they can breed. Partnering is free, commitment-free and can be undone any time.

  1. Select the pet in the HUD and click Partner.
  2. Pick a sweetheart from the list — we only show eligible pets, so you can't go wrong: your own unpartnered live pets of the opposite gender. Angeled, Forever and bred-out pets are politely left out.
  3. Confirm, and the two pets are an item! The Partner digits on the card update right away.

Changed your mind? Use Unpartner on either pet to call it off — no hard feelings.

Step two: expecting an egg

  1. Wait until both lovebirds are at 100% passion.
  2. Select the female and click Boost — this uses a pregnancy potion to advance the pregnancy (or a passion brew if only passion needs topping up).
  3. At 100% pregnancy she drops a new egg. Hatch it just like a starter egg and meet the newest member of the family!

The fine print

Max breedsEvery pet has a breed limit — base 10 plus any extras granted by an Extra Breeds potion. At the limit they're "bred out" and retire from breeding duties.
CooldownThere's a breather between breeds on the same pet — the pet card shows when they last bred.
Forever petsForever means forever — they can never breed or partner.
Angeled petsAngeled pets have flown to the great garden in the sky — they can't breed.

What will the baby look like?

That's the fun part! Offspring inherit traits through the genetics system — the colour and shape of each body part, plus size. Rare traits have lower odds, which makes landing one feel amazing. Check a pet's Parents and Ancestry actions in the HUD to browse its family tree, and the Traits panel for its expressed traits with rarity percentages.
